My Story

My ceramic story started in march 2018, in Ubud, Bali. I was travelling with my husband for a year and we decided to stay a while in this village that we fell in love with. Being schooled in art, I always wanted to try ceramics, and this was the right moment and place to do it. So I enrolled in multiple courses, in this little studio amids the ricefields. Up until today I look back with nostalgia to this magical time in my life. This is where I fell in love with a form of art where I could forget about time, my hands buried in clay, my clothes dirty and my hair dusty. No better feeling in the world.

It was a passion meant to stay. A year later my husband Ran and I started a high end cocktailbar. Not much later we had a beautiful son, Rumi. It’s a busy but tremendously fulfilling life.

My studio is located amids the beautiful fields of West Flanders, close distance from farms, forests, the North sea, and pittoresque villages. All places where I can find peace and inspiration for my ceramics. I love raw textures, organic shapes, and imperfections. These translate in what I make. No plate or pot is the same, you might find a crack here and there, or unfinished edges. I’d love to think of my pieces as if they resemble a treasure that you just found on the ground during a firm walk in nature.

I am super passionate about my jewellery too. I feel like I can really let go, be creative. They feel like little pieces of art to me. Every piece is designed according to my taste, I wear every single one of them and hope that whoever wears one feels the same.
